Weekend sessions, part 2

Thanks again to all of my models who came out and posed for us.  The second half of the day was spent in downtown Parkville, working with both natural light and off-camera flash.  Tina and I had a great time and enjoyed spending time with each of you!

Weekend sessions, Part 1

My niece contacted me a few weeks ago, asking if she could job shadow me for school credit.  How could I say no to the opportunity to pass along my years of knowledge and possibly help another family member dive head first into the world of photography?  Thank you to all of the neighbors who volunteered to help by offering up their children/families to be models!  The first two sessions of the day were the indoor, studio sessions.  These little cuties made my day.  They were hilarious.  I won't share all of the funny out-takes but my favorite moment of the day was when I asked a little girl to sing me a song and she responded: "My mommy can sing it because I am busy crying..."  :)

Precious little bundle

Look at the little guy that I got to cuddle this weekend.  Congrats Randy and Danielle!  It looks like you got the perfect little bundle.  So precious!

In-home session

This adorable family just moved to the area recently.  They have beautiful kids and a beautiful home.  We did a simple set-up right in the front entry, took a couple family photos and several portraits of the kids.  Happy first birthday to the little guy and welcome "G" family to the area.  I hope you enjoy Parkville as much as we do!

Small World

I love referrals and social networking.  It is amazing to see how so many of us are interconnected and would not know it otherwise.  A friend of mine tagged me in a Facebook post, giving me a plug as a local photographer.  (Thank you Julie!) When I glanced at the post, I recognized the profile photo from our neighborhood's FB page.  We chatted and quickly discovered that not only do we live in the same subdivision, but we live just a few houses apart!  So, not only did I get to help create a few wonderful head-shots for one of the top 50 Beach body coaches but I also got to spend time with a great neighbor.

If you are looking to get fit, my new friend and neighbor can help you out. :)  Deborah Baska: Fit Fun and Fabulous! You CAN have it all.

The Lights in Kansas City...

I have been neglecting my blog this holiday season but I have had a great time photographing holiday portraits.  The unseasonably warm temperatures in December made for a gorgeous night to take evening photos at Zona Rosa.  The lights in Kansas City are always beautiful!  Thank you Cleveland family for hanging out with me.  It was great catching up.  Maybe we need to head out for some more holiday light portraits but with lots of snow next time?  I hear that another snow storm is on the way.... :)
