Studio Portraits

The indoor season is officially beginning! I am going to miss the outdoor photos this winter. Maybe I'll actually talk someone into doing photos in the cold snow....*crossing fingers* ;-) I don't mind studio portraits but I LOVE the challenge of shooting outdoors.

These photos are from the last session of the weekend. This little cutie is the daughter of a friend. She has been patiently waiting for her session so I am glad that when I called her at the last minute, that she was able to literally come right over for photos. :-)

Twins...a year later

I met this family about a year ago through the Littlest Heroes Project (last year's blog entry). After seeing and hearing about all of the medical issues last year, it was such a blessing to see these girls again this year, happy and healthy and almost fully recovered!

Senior Girl...second session

Fall is here and the trees are gorgeous! This past weekend was my busiest weekend of the month. With rain in the forecast and even a tornado warning, I somehow got lucky enough to get all of my shoots in, with no cancellations....whew!

If you look back through my posts, you'll see my first session with this wonderful senior girl. I seriously couldn't ask for easier sessions. After photographing tons of little kids (which I love), it was a nice change of pace to photograph a cooperative, easy-going teen!

Family Portraits

Fall is definitely becoming my favorite time of year. The weather is beautiful and the trees are gorgeous. I must admit that I am dreading winter and indoor photos just a little since I really love being outside! Hopefully all of these fall family portraits that I am taking this month and next will hold me over until spring...

Miss November

October is quickly becoming my busiest month of the year and I am loving all the variety in photo shoots. My second session of the weekend was with "Miss November" who will be celebrating her first birthday in a couple short weeks. Happy birthday little one!

Romance is in the air!

What a gorgeous weekend for photos! The weather was amazing and the trees are starting to turn colors....love it! I loved every minute of this session. It was so much fun to photograph such a photogenic couple in one of the most beautiful parks in Kansas City. Thank you guys for driving two hours to meet me. I'll return the favor next year when I photograph your wedding!

Pink Fountain-Please Read!

Last year at this time, I had a friend who was dying from triple negative breast cancer. Her name was Lisa Fiatte. She was 31 years old, a mother of two children, a beloved sister, daughter and friend....... A group of her friends, myself included, gathered at the "pink" fountain on North Oak and Vivion to take a group photo to send Lisa a message that we were here to support her. We gathered bright and early in the morning and it was SO cold that I couldn't feel my fingers. We gathered in the place that Lisa loved. She wanted to take her family portraits in front of the pink fountain. Unfortunately Lisa did not get to have those portraits taken. She was too sick and in too much pain. She passed away in November of last year.

The same group of people who came out to the fountain last year are gathering again this year. This time, we want to raise money for breast cancer research and we want to donate it in Lisa's name. Please think about joining us! Wear pink if you have it and consider donating $5 or more. We will meet on Saturday, October 16th, and the group photo will be taken promptly at 9:15am. If you know someone that has fought or is fighting breast cancer, make a sign in their honor to hold during the photo. I am also offering a FREE portrait in front of the fountain to anyone wearing pink. These photos will be made available for download for all participants. All I ask is that you wear pink and you donate whatever you can to our breast cancer fund in Lisa's name. ALL of the money donated will go directly to breast cancer research. If you would like to request a time earlier than 9am to have a family photo, please let me know. I'm willing to come earlier and/or stay a little later.

Please spread the word and join us:

Antiques and a Baby

I met the {Z} family this weekend at their home to photograph their little angel. What fun! The email described an older home with white pillars, "brimming with antiques". If you know me at all, I'm sure you can imagine the huge smile across my face as I read the email and prepared for the session. This kind of session is right up my alley! I love antiques. In fact after editing this session today, I had to go rummage through the local antique store. Utilizing a lot of self control, I only bought one chair... ;)
