Family of four

I have been meeting so many new families this year.  It has been so nice getting to know the neighbors and the people who live all around the neighborhood.  We can leave our homes and arrive at the neighborhood pond in just a couple of minutes.  I definitely feel spoiled with so many beautiful spots and so many friendly neighbors.

Another beautiful day

Someone posted a quote online the other day that said that October for a photographer is the same as April is for a tax guy.  I could not agree more.  It has been such a beautiful and busy month.  The leaves are beginning to fall from the trees and after an unseasonably warm weekend, the weather may actually begin to feel like fall.  I've already started designing Christmas cards and will have to start thinking about my own family soon.  Just a couple more busy weekends until Thanksgiving...

A little sassy fun

I have been photographing these girls since they were little bitty.  I will admit that I let them partially run the photo session because they are hilarious with so much personality.  We did a ton of "sassy" photos with a few normal ones too.  The not so normal, goofy family photos are my favorite...so funny...

Beautiful Fall Day

I keep so busy in the fall that the days fly by.  There is only one more week until Halloween, five weeks until Thanksgiving and nine weeks until Christmas.  I have been really blessed with the number of portraits I've taken this year.  I am cranking out photos as fast as I can and look forward to another busy weekend coming up.

Family portraits and some Royal fun

The Kansas City Royals are playing in the World Series this week and what better way to celebrate than to take family portraits, right? :)

Fall photos in the West Bottoms

Kansas City has so many wonderful urban areas.  The West Bottoms, dating back to the early 19th century, is so fun and full of culture.  Personally, I think the antique stores should all be open every weekend, instead of just the first weekend of the month.  But, I suppose if they were always open, then taking photos down there would be more difficult.  Having a fairly quiet outdoor studio spanning several square blocks is kind of nice. ;)

Pumpkins, Parkville and Plenty of Fun

I love a good walk through the woods.  The sounds of the bird and scampering squirrels....babbling brooks and waterfalls...  I really should go for nature walks more frequently!  Thank you Scrivens family for making the drive to Parkville for photos.  I enjoyed catching up with you guys and look forward to meeting the new addition.
